ePedagogy - What is it? How are we using it as ASC?

Relevant educational research has identified the following list of pedagogical approaches as being suitable for consideration when planning how technologies can be used to enhance the learning experience. Community of practice/socio cultural learning, Resource based learning, Social constructionism, Peer learning, Content-led / instructivist learning, Complex Learning, Problem-based learning, Collaborative learning.

Here at ASC, many of our practitioners are using these approaches already. Therefore, over the next few months, we will be looking at some of these approaches and offering support to staff who may want to incorporate elements of these into their own teaching practice. This month we start by looking at our iLearn platform, which is based on a software platform called MOODLE.

The stated philosophy of Moodle includes a constructivist and social constructionist approach to education, emphasizing that learners (and not just teachers) can contribute to the educational experience. Moodle supports an outcomes-oriented learning environment.
