The unexpected time off caused exceptional disruption, leaving staff worried as to how they were going to make up missing class time and cover the syllabus. This had the added effect on our learners who had to play catch up within a shorter timeframe.
The good news is that this year we all have iLearn to help save the day!! iLearn allows you to plan your lessons weeks in advance and support your learners in a variety of ways, no matter what the weather is outside.
So – Here is our bad weather challenge. Firstly, try to make sure you have iLearn courses set up for all the subjects you are delivering. Secondly, PLAN AHEAD and ensure that you have at least 7 days of activities in your course for each of your subjects. Remember to use the handy communication tools in iLearn to keep in touch with your students, no matter how cold it gets outside.
Don’t let the weather WIN!! Beat the snow with iLearn …… If you require any initial or further training, whether it be departmental or one to one, please do not hesitate to contact us through our eLearning Helpdesk.
Adam Smith College has recently subscribed to the latest SCHOLAR materials covering a wide range of subjects such as Chemistry and Mathematics. Learners can engage with learning activities through this resource. If you would like access to these materials or want further information on this, please contact us through our elearning helpdesk.
SCHOLAR are also offering us a half day workshop where staff can come along and familiarise themselves with the SCHOLAR eLearning environment and answer any questions. This is an excellent opportunity for staff attending to gain further knowledge on SCHOLAR and what this can offer their learners. Staff who wish to attend should request access to SCHOLAR in advance of the session, as you will need to use your own login details to participate in these workshops.
